A Sonnet For The Sonneteer

There are many who write
Who really happen to have insight
But do they all get it right?

My deepest desire is to write like him
And stand apart in this art world which has become visibly void
Healing it with the elegance and solemn subtlety of a hymn
Breaking the monotonous stereotypes that we are unable to avoid.

There are many who write
Who really happen to have insight
But do they all get it right?
Maybe some lack the foresight.

If I had ever granted a boon, my choice is clear
Though it is totally impossible
To ask for the soul of Shakespeare
I can still think of other ways plausible.

And, as a beginning, with my heart’s good cheer,
I write a sonnet today for my dearest and world’s greatest sonneteer.
